Hemmings Muscle Machines One of None Issue
« on: August 03, 2008 - 09:34:39 PM »
Does anyone get the magazine Hemmings Muscle Machines?  Last month's issue dealt with 3 cars that were never built, but basically recreated as if they were originals.  One of them happens to be a 71 Challenger 440-6 with a sunroof, but that's not the one that piqued my interest.  The cover car is a Camaro Convertible RS, of which only one original was built.  The guy that owns the feature car built his as original as possible, even going as far as adding a letter to the block stamping, and reproducing what would have been all the original paperwork, including window sticker and certi card, using a bogus name and address.  He even went as far as sending all the paperwork out to a special service that weathered everything to look like it was 40 years old.  Everything on the car is original, with all the proper date codes.  Granted, everyone who knows Camaros (I don't) would know there was only one original like this, but to the average Joe, they would have no clue at all.  To me this seems a bit over the top and could border on fraud (especially stamping the block), but I was just curious what other's thought about this build.

that's scary.he may be honest about the car if he sold it but the next owner might be a scumbag and screw somebody over.especially if he lets that fake documentation go with it.
