Sure grip wearing out?

I`ve been running a factory sure grip and 3.91`s since rebiulding the cuda and it`s never giving me a problem and always hooked and spun both tires evenly.I just swithced tires from my old BFG radials to a BFG Drag radial and now when I dump the clutch and put her sideways the rear seems to kick in and out spinning both,then only one then both tires again.Is my sure grip getting worn or is the much better traction just overpowering the stock clutch sure grip under uneven load(traction) conditions?

I hope you didnt do what I did. I changed to full synthetic in my cone sure gripped 3.23 rear. I did not pop for the additive since I had always heard the full synthetic gear oil didnt need it. Well I since have learned that I DID need it. My sure grip went out about 3-6 months after I changed to full synthetic without the additive. I know both types go out and even with machining the cone type can be rebuilt but the clutch type is the best one IMO.

Still running regular old dead dinasours and Mopar additive,been awile since I changed it out though-maybe time I do that.

I might be wrong but to me if it is already slipping it is dead. Dont take my word for it though, I am not a sure grip guru by any means. Is it clutch type or cone type? duh, you note it is a clutch type.

slicks have a lot of traction & will find a weak link , try changing fluid but my guess is it is on the way out

I talked to the Mopar Racer, Herb McCandless last year and he told me never to use synthetic in a Posi. It is too slick and will ruin your clutches. You still didn't say if it was the Cone or clutch type. But I agree with Chryco. Cone---Replace it, Clutch style--- New clutches and plates.
