70 Cuda Grille Repair
« on: August 08, 2008 - 04:03:52 PM »
What can be done to repair this grille?  ??? It is in otherwise perfect shape. I looked it over and it does not appear that the broken part was meant for replacement. It would be a shame to have to toss this one for a repro.

You can either fab replacement pieces and install them with either plastic welding or using some kind of epoxy adhesive or you can buy another broken grille section that has the pieces you need and then plastic weld or epoxy it into place.

Could you use parts from another grill as mentioned by 72hemi and then have it plated.  I've heard there are a few company's plating our classic car plastic parts.  It would definately be more durable.

I was not aware if a company repopped grille parts for 70's. It looks like a patch job or fab would be in order. Part of the fun in this hobby.
It doesn't take much to break 38 year old plastic.

I repaired my 70 cuda grille, but because of the deadline I was trying to make for the car I did order a repop from Goodmark and it is definately a quality part. So after I completed the car and had some spare time I repaired mine. It wasn't bad the hardest part will be making the new pieces. I also ordered the correct textured argent paint from Totally Auto Inc.
