Does this look right to you guys? Something just doesn't feel right about the way it mounts to the firewall...Am i doing something wrong../?? Please help/or reassure

I comes with another U joint for the column end, and a DD shaft that you have to cut to fit....so it should be ok. Im worried about the mounting on the firewall, the tabs welded on the column dont butt up against the plate...

Looks fine to me. I think the tabs are just to keep it from sliding into the engine compartment when installing.
By the way, it is a Ididit column. I think an idiot column would be something found in a Ford?

LOL yeah, on a Phord the idiot's on the other end of the column though. Ok, ill go ahead and cut the shaft....im scared!

Make sure that you put a gasket at the base of the steering column where the flange touches the firewall to stop any engine fumes coming into the cabin.
The uni joint connection looks great.

yes that is installed correctly. the two tabs on the tube are normaly there to prevent the column from shoving into the engine bay when your chest hits the wheel and crush can on impact.
