    removing cable from speedometer, How?

    I need some help getting the speedometer cable off the back of the speedometer on a Cuda rally dash. The white plastic part turns but won’t release. So it must have a detent to release? The white plastic part has a little wing on it. I’m tired of hanging upside down holding my flashlight in my mouth with cramped fingers. The last time I was this twisted up in a car was 40 years ago but I was getting lucky.

    there are two plastic hooks that clip onto the speedo. just gently lift on the hooks and pull back.

    My dang reading glasses kept falling off and I was about ready to super glue them to my ears and nose bridge so they would stay in place. Thanks I’ll be on my back soon with my trusty flashlight stuck down to my tonsils.  :2thumbs:

    thanks MEK, squeeze on the back end right? i had that at first and then deleted it. wasnt 100%  on that so i went with the other way that i know works.

    Tada I got it off.  :clapping:
    It appears Mickey Mouse played a hand in the assembly as indicated by the worm gear clamp. It came off just like you said,” Push down on the rear of the plastic lever, pull and it released”. It was also helpful to have my glasses attached.
    The cable is in 2 pieces and it as laying on the exhaust pipe. Thanks for the help guys.
