Having problems with an over charging system
« on: September 02, 2008 - 12:07:25 AM »
I recently installed an electric water pump and fan, and now im have serious over charge issues. So far to the point that it has melted the wire going to the alt/chargeing gauge.
Im not sure what it could be. I have already swapped out two different alternators and two different voltage regulators.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

you have added 15-20 amps load to the alt & all the power is going through the ammeter guage , I would add a bypass wire of 10 guage to go from the alt directly to the starter relay

the starter relay on the inner fender near the battery , conect it to the large battery connection
