Specifications for longitudinal white stripe
« on: May 11, 2011 - 08:31:53 PM »
I'm getting my Challenger painted on Monday the 16th and need to know the specifications for the longitudinal white stripe down the sides.  It is an R/T so the stripe definitely needs the R/T included in the stripe.  I know you can get vinyl stripes but I want it painted under the clear coat. I'm going with the fender tag code but it  seems a bit unusual;  It's Sublime with a white longitudinal stripe.   Anyone with this information?  Thanks, PK

Why not ask Challenger Gary or Phoenix graphics to sell you a paint mask kit for that stripe. That way you'll have the position for the letters and outside stripe without having to mask it yourself.

Thanks Shelbydogg!  I passed the information along to my painter.  I hope to get the car back late this week.  I'll post pictures in the Off Topic forum. PK

You're welcome.  Those guys that make stripes can always make the negative for you. I don't know what they charge though. I know Challenger Gary offers that service.

ShelbyDogg, I checked with both Gary and Phoenix Graphics and yes they both offer the paint masks, negative, template, or what ever it is called.  The paint shop is moving along swiftly and we decided to do it "in house" due to time considerations. Jon Carson at Fenders and Fins has done several of these stripes and they turn out great. I should have addressed the situation at least a couple weeks ago.  Oh well!  PK
