What's involved in a 833 4 speed rebuild?
« on: March 22, 2005 - 09:44:53 PM »
Hey guys,

I was having the clutch and pressure plate replaced in my 70 Challenger and found out that the input shaft on the transmission was extremely loose (up and down movement) and the bearing was shot.  Then we had metal shavings coming out with the fluid.  It was recommended to me to have the transmission rebuilt.

What would you expect to pay to have a tranny rebuilt?  Is there anything I need to be aware of when I get it rebuilt?  How long roughly would you expect it to take?  Where would you get your parts?  Year One has a master rebuild kit for $245.00, is there a better place to get parts?  I'm looking for a srtong street/strip setup, it's an 18 slpine trans.  What do you think?  Thanks.

I can fully sandblast paint & rebuild a std tranny in 8 hrs approx
I can get brg kits for $150 with syncros , Passon has alll the hard parts available as well , cost will vary depending on what is needed & damaged inside
