options on FT and BS
« on: August 24, 2008 - 12:02:51 PM »
Hi all, I'm examining my new purchase and I see that some options are listed on F/T and some only on the B/S. Please help me discover which are not original to the car or are just listed on the B/S - if you know what would be the code on the B/S please write it too.

FT:
R22 V1X V21 V6X 26 END
M31 N41 N42 N85 N95
G31 G33 H51 J25 J45 M21
V1X A62 B51 C16 C26 C55
EK2 HRX9 000 C19 106043
E63 D32 JS29 NOE 127 313

The car has:
- rear speakers
- disc brakes
- power brakes
- power steering
- visco fan (aftermarket?)
- torqueflite #PK2892031L 2516 8279
- engine block cast #2468130-10
- ECS
- A/C
- rear end #2881489 (claimed to be suregrip 3.23 834 - but not sure), and smaller "824" number casted
- rimblow S/W
- ralyee wheels
- console
- overhead console
- rt dash
- dual exhaust, chromed tips

Help will be appreciated
PS
ANyone has idea what is that thing on the heating hoses? I never seen it on any pic, nor in the service manual.

As a general rule, the fender tag lists items that required extra holes in the body. AC, buckets seats vs. bench seat, rear window louvers, outside mirrors and so on.

The broadcast sheet lists all those plus those that did not require body holes. Wheels, wheel covers, tire type, steering wheel hub caps or wheel covers, etc.

The codes on your fender tag are the same as used on the broadcast sheet, just in a different format for some of them.

Now that's clear.  But did "power brakes" code automatically meant disc brakes?

No.  Disc Brakes are coded on the BS only.  Also, the crankcase breather is incorrect for a N95 car.

I have a three nipple breather if you want to trade for the one you have? If so, email me.

That would be a nice swap. Today I inspected the ECS system and came to a conclussion that... it was removed. The hose fro mthe fuel tank is cut near the cowl, no carbo canister nor carb/air cleaner, crankcase ventilation system hoses...

Hopefully, someday, one of the online decoder sites will get model year specific so that all the information is correct.  :screwy:

One can hope I guess.....

Please forget the swap idea?

It is not worth shipping the one you have from Poland, it would just be a spare for me anyway. (I just noticed where you were from)

I can just mail you the one I have, if you want to pay me back for the postage that is fine.

Please email me (sixpak340@att.net) with your mailing address and I can get it headed your way.

I agree...

Is this on the HH site agenda?

Or maybe C-C.com's?  We could simplify it by decoding only ebodies.   :thinkerg:

No actually. I have no plans to ever do an online decoder. The online decoders can not spot fake tags, model year specific coding or common typographical errors. It takes someone with experiece to do that, not a computer.  ;)
