semi new 391 #742 with new powerlok
« on: July 20, 2008 - 02:47:24 PM »
I just got this 391 set up and installed it to see if I was going with 410's in my dana. I am staying with 354's in the dana. Everything is practically new in this unit and needs nothing. I put my 7290 yoke on there, but can put the 7260 yoke back on if needed. I'd prefer local pickup this time as I am growing tired of shipping everytime I come home from work.

I live in Cullman Al  35055 just south of Nashville 2 hrs and north of Birmingham 45 minutes off I-65.   475 bucks.     pm me or check my profile for my email

I still have the 391 chunk and will be pulling out the rearend to install my dana when I get home from working on the road. The whole assembly has less than 300 miles on it and is still clean and in new condition.  I can install a small ujoint yoke on it, or it comes with the big yoke now. Not even half the cost of a new chunk and in excellent condition.   I have meet the 75 post minimum  and hope to be recognized as a trusting member.  :blah:But I am not a resident yet :poopoke:  I am in between Nashville and Birmingham off I-65.

Alan,
I would be interested in the 3rd chunk, but unfortunately you would have to ship it. I tried to PM you, but your box is full!! :crying: I am in no hurry Alan, so if you were willing, you could take your time. I have a long story about 3rd members. I drove an hour today to look at a complete rear end. Had it all set up and even talked to the guy twice befor leaving. I got there 5 minutes early. He had this look on his face. He said he "tried" to call me. He sold it to a friend!! :swear: :stomp: :swear: The unit I have installed now 742, 4:10 posi I bought from a fellow car club guy. Told me it was in "great shape. The posi is shot.  >:(I lost out $300 bucks on that deal!! Again... :swear: :stomp: :swear: You sound like an answer to my dilemma. I know you are an upstanding guy!! Let me know if we can work something out!! Thanks Alan!!

I've been reading your post on your dilema......... :pullinghair: :banghead: :stomp: :bricks1: :o    Yours got the 7290 or 7260 joint? This is the 7290 big joint, but I have a perfect small yoke for it too.  Shipping sucks unless I can find a 7 gallon bucket. I used a box for cowboy and it was costly. Another member pm'ed me asking me to ship to another country. I am afraid the cost would be way out there for him. I got 410's too, but they sing .  I will get my box cleaned out for tomorrow. :2thumbs:

Hi Alan,
I hope you got some rest & are feeling better. I have the 7260 yoke on my current 3rd member. I sent you an email. I had a 3rd member shipped some time ago and the fella used a rubbermaid storage crate like you can pick up at Walmart for just a couple of bucks. It actually worked great. he wrapped up the unit in rags & cardboard mat'l so it wouldn't shift and then secured the lid with sheet metal screws and then over-wrapped it with heavy duty tape to keep the screws in place. I think he shipped a lot of 3rd members and this was how he shipped them. It really worked out well & didn't hardly add anything to the overall weight. I think I paid about $75 bucks for shipping, but that OK. For what you are selling I am still ahead of the game!! Thanks Alan!!

Thanks so much for your time and effort.  :2thumbs:Most folks wouldn't go to all the trouble that you do to help folks. You truly walk the talk. I just want to see your (clean) garage one day and of course buy you a fat juicy steak!! :bananasmi
