« on: September 14, 2008 - 11:59:47 PM »
After I finished with the trunk floor and tailpanel I did the frame connectors and torque boxes. man it is great to be putting something back on the car instead of taking parts off.

Nice work! Where are the torque boxes from, and did they take much trimming?

Thanks for the pics, those are the best shots of the torque boxes and their locations I've been able to see.

The Torque boxes are from Auto Body Specialist the same place that makes those Safety-Caps for frame rail repair.  There was an article a couple of years ago in a magazine where they installed the boxes in a Road Runner. I think it was Mopar Muscle not sure though. The frame connectors are from US Car Tool. They were close out of the box. I had to trim them a bit but then that is to be expected with the tolerances these cars came off the line with.

Thanks for the rest of the info! Everything looks great. The frame connectors look great, although I think I'm going to have to go with welding in a bolt-in style connector for my car since I won't have the car on a rotisserie, that's a lot of welding to do upside down.

So you are happy with both companies products?
I have been thinking of getting the XV frame connectors but I have heard mixed reviews on them.

I'm pretty sure that Auto Rust is the manufacturer of the tq boxes.  They do make the safe t cap used in tha article as well.  Great bunch of guys too!

Tom

Auto Body Specialties is a retailer like YO.  Good to deal with though
