Was the thread for a column mounted ignition switch?  If so, I have a 67 Barracuda with a dash mounted ignition switch, can anyone tell me how to remove this?

remove the chrome trim ring & turn the key on then depress the button under the chrome trim ring & the lock will slide out

Is the "button" in the small hole in the dash directly under the ignition switch?  Another stupid question, how do you remove the chrome trim ring?  Is there a clip to remove back of the switch under the dash?  Thanks.

unthread the chrome retainer using needle nose pliers , remove the lock from the dash & swing it down under the dash , turn the lock on , there is a small button in the threads , depress that & the lock will pull out

Okay, I got it.  The ring has four small indentations that I almost didn't see.  I unscrewed that off of the ignition switch.  Thanks. :2thumbs:
