Thats the rumour right now. Sony had jaws dropping at the last CES show in Las Vegas. Imagine a thin film on your glass completely transparent. A flick of the switch and wham...all your guages in your face. Even a rallye guage if you wanted. Planning on buying a plasma? It'll be obsolete in 2-3 years. This technology is called OLED.

Yeah, is that the same stuff that they put in the mirrors? I've seen them on big dressers for your bedroom, flip a switch and the mirror is a TV. Same with the new phones can do that now, too.

Pretty cools tuff. I remeber GM was doing some heads up stuff with the Corvettes as much as 10 years ago, I believe, first with the speedo digital readout at the base of the winshied, and then some infr-red stuff for night driving.

pretty snazzy, i love the heads-up display that is an option in BMW's. Pretty cool option, not related technology though. Puts your speedo, and dash messages in a little square that appears just at the nose of the car, only visible by the driver.
