I am putting together a '72 Challenger Rallye with a 340. I just installed a new gas tank and sending unit. The owner is not keeping this 100% original. He does not want the emission stuff on it. I am sure there are other people that leave that stuff off. What do I do with the vent line out of the sending unit.

you can just cap it but the tank may not vent , it used to vent into the carbon canister or the engine , so you would need a vented cap , or you can use it as a feul return line if you use the 70-71 Hemi / 440+6 vapor separator

From memory, if it has a separate vent line on the sender (meaning 2 lines) then it's a 3/8's sending unit as opposed to a 5/16" sending unit. The factory '72 Challenger 340's came with the 5/16" (1 line) if I'm not mistaken. Either will work.
