Overhaul, does it sound good?
« on: March 30, 2004 - 11:32:12 PM »

I just got a reciept for my transmission overhaul/rebuild.

This is what it got done..............

# Split and overhaul torque converter + Overhaul kit.
# Filter.
# New front band & rear band.
# Clutch fibre plates, clutch steel plates and clutch end plate.
# New clutch drum and selective snap ring, new clutch dia spring and wave spring.
# Complete new bush kit and thrust kit.
# New over run roller and spring kit.

So what do you transmission gurus think?  :D :)

about the only thing I would add is a bolt in overrunning clutch in the rear of the case

Keuwl if your happy I'm happy.  :) Is that a must or does it just help the trans shift quicker? If my trans is fine and ready to rumble how it is I'll think about it after the resto is complete, it's winter down here soon and the money trees are becoming bare if you know what I mean.  ;D

Thanks for the tip CP, your the man.  ;)

Going completely through my 904 right now... why do you suggest the bolt-in over running clutch CP?? ::) Can't wait to see the numbers this baby will pull on the trans dyno!!

Interesting... I think I'll stay with the stock one... not going to be pulling THAT much power into the trans out of my mighty slant 6... ::) :P Guess I'll have to put pics up in off topic on how the rebuild is going... ;) :D Flat black transmissions look COOL!! :o ;D
