cooling question
« on: September 13, 2008 - 07:43:17 AM »
I'm putting a BB in my car and I currently have a 22" core support. I was wondering if anyone has ran a 22" 3 core radiator, or has everyone switched to a 26" radiator? If you are running a 22" 3 core could you please share as many specs about your car as you can.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm running the "numbers" radiator 22 in mine. The tanks are big enough to convert to 3 core and still keep original tanks. The only time she gets warm is in allot of stop/go traffic. So I installed a permacool fan for that and have  had no probs.     Installed a thermostat control /relay/and cuircut breaker to keep things safe.  :grinyes:

I know you have a big block, my built 340 has a 22" I put a shroud on it and an auxillary pusher fan and no problems, hottest it gets is stopped in traffic middle of summer it climbs to about 200, hit the fan and it runs around 180 or os.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you have this issure 100% resolved before you go further. I did a swap form small to big block and fought heat problems for months. 22 would run hot, put the one for the big block in it and still ran hot. switched fans, shrouds, record etc. finally got it to run 200 and that was best it ever did. good luck.
