First of all, Al it is a releif to here you are done with that job. Its not called ALabama for nothing. Every state cant play tug of war to have their own Alan so hopefully you'll stick around and enjoy the time in your own state!! at least it seems you never get a whole lot of time at home....  :sadwavey:

 plus we want to see you stay alive, not at the hands of some shotty workers that are playing with HEAVY machinery...  :scared:

my title is: Systems Construction Inspector - I go from jobsite to jobsite and make sure that our water and sewer mains are being installed correctly. Then i have to keep track of the pay items and materials.

relaxing: its hard for me to sit still. I usually am doing something around the house, but when im not i'll chill out and have a Blue Moon  :drunk: I want to get back to cruising in order to relax. ordering a set of MSD plug wires today.  :burnout:

For fun, I go camping and hiking, frequently with a backpack full of camera gear. If I don't have time for a long trip I take a short one. Every now and again, if I have some spare money ( :roflsmiley:) I go to Disney World.

When I actually do have spare time to CHILL I usually go to the beach with my wife and dog. I also like to do some fossil hunting and I am getting ready to buy a new Nikon D-90 digital camera so I can get back into photograhy. I also like to take my cars out for a little cruise.

Being Dad and working takes up a good portion of my time.  However, I enjoy going to car shows and cruising in my spare time.

When I'm not doing something car related, I am playing, watching or coaching some sport.

I resurface rotaries. I was almost killed today. Had to file the near hit report. I was almost killed yesteray too, had to file the near hit report, and I was almost killed day before yesterday and had to file the near miss report. I wish people would do their jobs better like the old days.  Today a 3000 lb object broke from a beam clamp and landed inches from me. Safety personell put the beam clamps up for me. totaled my 50k machine.

I just quit my job tonight, licking my wounds and sores and I am driving 1500 miles home tomorrow. They want me to be in Boisie Idaho this weekend. And they dont believe I quit my job today.  Here's a run down of the last 4 days... Fire and almost boom...run run....boom Jib fell off installed by plant personell on second day !!!!!ouch and sore. I was 30 ft in the air hangin. 3rd day beam clamp slipped 4 ft sideways 40 ft in the air and I couldnt move. 600 lbs 1 ft from me and stopped. Today they dropped my very unique machine from another set.   Did I say I am a little upset?

Guys, I don't drink, dont do drugs. But tonight I Grilled a ribeye and some brats on my tailgate in the motel parking lot and a 1/3 of a can of beer. It feels odd to drink. I dont like feeling this way

And when I chill?   I work, I just do some thing else. I dont never stop. I am over 50 , and getting banged around hurts more and more. So tomorrow I chill by driving 1500 miles non stop. Then I will go mow my grass, weed eat and work on my 81 dodge truck I want to fix up. So I stay busy. Last week a motor cycle kicked my but in my shop and I still have meet missing off of my body. The week before that I drove 600 miles straight through the eye of the hurricane in texas. The week before that I was 60 ft in the air on 8 inch beams unscrewing 2 inch bolts and moving rotaries .030 of an inch

Seriously? What's it like to chill?   Am I running from something?  Sorry guys, It's tough on the road with no friends setting here rubbing my wounds...I'll shut up. Im just venting..  I'll go back to being Moparal tomorrow. Right now Im low on gas and my battery is low, so I need to charge myself up. I have never quit a job and im nervous...ALAN

Sorry to crash your post...forgive me

 :22yikes: :scared: :faint:

WOW!!!!!
I am so glad you are okay Alan.  I was wondering why you had not posted as much these last few days.  I am also glad you finally got a good reason to leave that dangerous job.  Just look at it this way, now you have a real good reason to get your auto shop up and running.   :2thumbs:

For fun, I like to go to C-C.C   But other than that, I like to watch movies, take a cruise in my car, go fishing, or get some extra sleep (been real busy lately).

I was just telling a friend of mine that if I were a younger man I woud do something like head to Alaska to fish for crab a la Deadliest Catch. On second thought, maybe I like my warm, cozy home.

Glad you're OK, Al.

Profession:   28 years of working and being a "Jill of All trades" - but out of those 28 years mainly, Property Management & Real Estate.

Chilling for me involves:    Politics, Politics, Politics and did I mention Politics!!, as well as watching CNN, MSNBC, FOX News
daily and nightly to learn more about Politics and of course, Politics. (By the way the Presidential Debate is on in 1/2 hour - Do not miss it!!)

I also enjoy History, Philosophy & Morality, Debating, the Dictionary, France, and all kinds of Anitques that have a history & story!!
(but specifically Georgian, Victoria, Edwardian, Art Nouveau & Art Deco furniture & household items do it for me)

Thanks,
Bella Beeze

Wow Al,
I am glad you are OK. Sounds to me like someone is trying to tell you something. The good Lord was looking out for you. No one can blame you for leaving a job where you are nearly taken out several times in one week.  :22yikes: I am a lead test engineer for the Navy. I'm not IN the navy, but work for the navy. I've seen some horrible accidents in the world of ship repair, several being fatal. It's a dangerous world. You have to look out for your own safety and well being!! When I chill, :bigshades: I like to head to the mountains and tent camp/hike/burn things. I also enjoy chillin' out on the water with a fishing pole. Of course I gotta mention Mopars cause that's just what I do. I love a good local cruise-in on a weekend. Take the folding chair and meet friends for a good time of relaxing and story telling (mostly fibs) :roflsmiley: Hope you feel better AL. Get some rest, chill out and maybe get a nice safe job as an advice columnist!! :roflsmiley: :smilielol: :roflsmiley:
