Do you keep a spare in the car?

Yep, I carry one, one of the few apparently that does. Have never had to use it but I just know the day I take it out and put the space saver in(without a canister yet) I'll get a flat. It's pretty close in size to what I run and is mounted on a Road wheel.

But like was said, if you run different size front to rear, what are you going to do?

That is why I was suggesting the Cherokee spare.  If you can find the tall version, about 28", you can have two different sizes of tires.  Since the spare is narrow, you should not have a problem on the front unless you try to turn it all of the way in one direction.  It should be able to get you home.  Just a thought.

plan on putting the original spare back in just for looks it still has the rubber nips sticking up (what do you call them?) heres a pic maybe someone can confirm that this was a 73 tire.

Nice tip on the Cherokee spare. Might have to look for one when I get back to the states. And then figure out a way to hold them down - and a jack of some kind (fiberglass front bumper) and somehting to hold that down. All while not looking like a** in the trunk (with the batteries).

I have a temp spare also.  If you are looking for one, you can get one out of a 90's Jeep Cherokee.  They are on a 16-inch wheel and the tire can vary in height.  They are only about 4-5 inches thick and can give you extra room in the trunk. 

Exactly what i was after. I used to have a '99 Cherokee and the space saver looked like it would fit and even be about the same diameter as both my 245/60/15 fronts and my 295/50/15 rears. It would get me home anyway. There should be enough over here in the UK salvage yards to find one somewhere. They have been selling them here (in right hand drive) for years now.
