71 Challenger conv VIN # missing

I have a 71 Challenger convertible with no VIN#, dashpad was replaced long time ago and someone lost the VIN tag...also car has no fendertag or buildsheet...coresupport and cowl stampings are there...no title or registration, came from one of the states back east where they don't issue titles for older cars..is there a VIN# list from Chrysler so I could find out what this car is..it has original V8 K frame so there is 3 options: 318, 340 or 383, any help would be appreciated!

The FBI knows what the VIN was based on the body numbers.

They will not reply directly to you though, so this is what you have to do;

Go to your local DMV.

Apply for a state issued VIN number. Be ready to fill out some forms, they will have to inspect the car as well. Once they have everything they need from you, they will contact the FBI.

Once that connection is made, they (the state) will issue you a new VIN tag as long as the car was not stolen at some point.
