E-body inner plastic fender splash shields - fasteners Q's
« on: September 05, 2008 - 10:15:27 AM »
Tring to do a bit of reasearch . My former 1970 challenger ( Dec 1969 LA plant build )had the smaller ( 5/16' ) hex screws with a 3/4" washer diam. retaining the rear inner fender splash shields

Yet it seems 1971 and later seem to use the larger ( 3/8" hex ) washer screws eith a 1.25" washer diam.instead

anyone have a 1970 with the larger screws as original?

I wonder if it's a 1970 versus 1971-74 thing

So I didn't take my car apart and was wondering about these shields.  The fenders are about to be re-installed and I was wondering how they are installed?  Are they mounted to the fender or the cowl?  Do they have to be installed when the fender is installed or can they be installed after the fact?

They are bolted to the cowel. You can do it on or off

'70 340 Challenger

A whole lot of rust and very little time to work on it...
