Transmission dipstick length
« on: September 28, 2008 - 09:08:18 AM »
I am having a problem with my trans blowing fluid out the dipstick tube. The car didn't run when I bought it and during the restoration the trans has been rebuilt twice but two different guys(long story). The car has 20-30 miles on it now.It doesn't do it when it when the fluid barely touches the bottom of the dipstick, but when it is full it blows it out.
The easy solution would be the wrong dipstick.Mine measures 21 5/8s from tip to tip.Is that correct?

Thanks,Dave

From the bottom tip to the rubber seal/cap,this is what I came up with.

Do 904's and 727's have different dip-sticks? Maybe that is the problem?    :dunno:  What tranny are we talking about?? Maybe you have the wrong dip-stick?
