Well, it is a scary time with our economy. I would pick trying to get a buisness loan over dying on the job too though.

Good luck on your venture. I couldn't think of a guy I would want to buy HP parts from more. If you do go into that field I know you've got alot of customers right here.

BTW, I will be up there to visit you soon. I'll call in a few days   ;)

I will be ok. I am just squeaky not poor. I can make it 6 months or more without working. Just dont want to use my emergency money is all. I got 3 months saved up for home and stuff.  I keep a special account for house payments, insurance and home owners insurance. I added to that every friday for 2 yrs straight. Then I had my office dirrect deposit into my savings account 100 a week just to save for the last couple of years. And of course the ole checking account. I got paid today  still get paid next week   and have 352 hrs of vacation pay coming in, but they'll tax that

Im gonna try to learn what it's like to chill :roflsmiley:  Maybe 2 days to a week. I got a call from a shop that needed me to give them a hand if I was home. He called today.  I said I was on my way home now.

Being broke in your 20's is having 30 bucks in the bank. In your 30's is having a grand or so layin around, in your 40's you try to put back and invest, in your 50's you save all you can for a rainy day. :2thumbs:

Hey Al,
I hope that any new venture you choose is a great success.

That said, it will not hurt you at all to slow down just a teenie-tiny bit. If moss starts to grow on you, you can always ramp it back up a notch or three.

Hey Alan,

Buddy I will be glad when I get home.  I will be in the same boat for sure with the job thing.  I have got used to this pay over here but do not want to be away for this long ever again.  I will be coming home the first part of march and maybe we can get together then.  I am not sure what I will do when I get done with this job.  Just know I dont want to stay overhere for another 6 months or a year.   Take care and hope to hear from you soon.  Be safe   Gordon

Sometimes the money just isnt worth it, Al. Who knows, you might make more money selling parts, and it'll be a whole lot less stressful and a whole lot safer. Never knew anyone that had to recuperate in bed for a couple of days because of selling some parts.

If you are ever planning on cruising past exit 97 on I-80 in western PA, give me a PM, and we can visit a while. Nothing to do around here, but there are a lot of good places to eat.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do, and I'm sure you'll get a lot of customers from this board if you do anything Mopar related.

Al,
I wish you the best. No matter how good a job pays, it isn't a good job if it kills you; by literal means or by stress. Follow your heart and do what's best for ALAN and your family. Get some well needed rest. Weigh you options and only you know what's best for Al. May the good Lord protect you and give you divine direction!! I'll be praying for you!!:angelwings:

Al, we're not that far apart in age and I know exactly what you're going through!  Too new here to know what it is you do but the best couple years I've had was spent bouncing around getting a business started!  Didn't make any money but the write offs are great!  Make sure you keep track of all that mileage while you're communicating with your "advisors" here because the government is now your partner to the tune of $.585/mile!

Good luck!

Hey Al, where in the world were you working in ND? We could of meet for lunch someplace if it's close to Fargo. Sorry to hear the job has got to this point. Sometimes a person needs to take a stand. No better time than when your life is on the line. There was a 30 year old man that lost his life on Friday working on the new ethenol plant. It's just not worth taking chances for the pencil pushers in the office.  I wish you the best of luck in your new adventures.
