Me either.  I believe it was an option on other Challenger's, but mostly an S/E thing.

There is a chrome or stainless molding package which is part of the SE package that could be ordered separately on any Challenger. My buddy had it on his TA and I have it on my 6 pack Challenger. I don't have the code here with me. It consisted of moldings that started at the quarter window top and went on top of the doors and on the hood edge by the windshield. These then went around to the other quarter window. A molding was added to the valance on it's opening. It also included the alluminum panel that went above the tail lights.

My buddy pulled out some 30 yr. old pics of his car last night. It appears that the moldings were only on his door tops and quarters but not on the hood and fenders. Maybe T/A was different when you ordered the dress up package. Someone needs to look it up on 70 order sheets. Another posibility is that they were added by the dealer. The T/A may be the exception to the rule. It did not have wheel opening moldings either. Basically after more research I am not sure my first post is 100% correct.

There's another thread going about TA fenders:

If we find out that they are different, I'll bet that would explain the lack of fender trim.

I believe it was to give a racer look. The fender in that thread is a 1971 Hemi fender. It does look like the T/A fender. It would have fender moldings with the Hemi. I am going to guess that the moldings would also fit the T/A fender.

I haven't seen the trim on a T/A, but I am buy NO means Galen.   About what you said above, it might be possible they didn't put the trim behind the front fenders and hood on a T/A since they were fiberglass?   :dunno:  That's my only guess.

The moldings in question are the M31 belt moldings. They were not a standalone option. They were part of the A63 Molding Group A, which was standard on SE and R/T SE. The A63 package WAS NOT available on the T/A. The only optional moldings for the T/A were the M25 Sill Molding and the M05 Door Edge Guards

It does mke sence since the TA's did not have other moldings. I do have the A63 on my RT. I guess the moldings were added at the dealer on my buddies TA. They did things like that to sell a car.
