  They are all the same basically, only the 426 & 440's had an 18 spline instead of the 23 spline, this was used even on the /6. The rear extension housing is the main difference, the E body must have 2 pads on this housing, the rear one is for the  E body. Check www.slantsix.org , it has plenty of info, enough for you to be informed.

it is a 68 440ci...so that takes the 18 spline?
