Need to know what wheel and tire setup to go with.
« on: October 09, 2008 - 01:58:53 AM »
Alright, the wheels and tires that are on the car right now are beat to hell.

The bolt pattern is 5x4.5 so any kind of mustang wheel should work.
Just wondering what back spacing I should go with?
Also, what tire size?

Thanks!

Wow  :faint:
How long is a piece of string ??
I would go through the tire & wheel thread to look for Ideas
what look & charicteristics do you want ?
there are Drag tires , stock type tires , Performance tires , all season tires , competition tires , 15" rims or 22" or something in between,  what price range / budget do you want

The bolt pattern is 5x4.5 so any kind of mustang wheel should work.
Just wondering what back spacing I should go with?
Also, what tire size?

Thanks!

:clueless:  :dunno: What's with the string thing?  I don't git it?  :clueless:

Anyhows, as Bullitt was referencing, if you use stock Mustang wheels, depending on the year used, worse with the 2005 and newer Mustang rims, the back spacing will be too deep, I think most run like a 5.5"-6" back space which will make the tires/rims rub on the leaf springs.  Mopars for the most part like 4"-4.5" back space with stock suspensions, thus the spacer is needed.

Also there is an issue with the center hole of the Mustang rims such that it is too small and will not fit without alteration on the disk brake set ups.

Help me out guys, any more thought on the back space issue?

What do you what to do with the car? do you want some great handling tires, do you want the maximum traction for side force G's? Do you mind/want 17" rims.
