Gotta love those locals.  They might buy it one day and restore it!  no reason to let anyone else in on it!

BIGS....I'm live in Albuquerque right now  :cooldancing:  Let me know if you want me to check something out since I'm local. I may want the 68 Charger however    Lots of cars here, but the people are very knowledgable so don't think there are any steals.  My Challenger is an original NM car and it had very little rust so this area can be very good to metal with the high desert climate.  Here's a couple pics to get you  :droolingbounce: from lots in area.  The Charger is a real 71 R/T with the fender tag still attached and most of the 440 in place.  It's in very bad shape, but restorable if you want to spend $30K+ or so.  The owner thinks its worth $15K as is (which is stupid) so it's rusting away.  ???  The pics make the car look alot better than it really is.  I offered $7k and got turned down.  The lot has at least 2 Cuda's and 1 Challenger not to mention other muscle cars.  Locals will not tell me anything about who owns the lot so these have been sitting for years just rusting away.  Sure would like to get that Top Banana Cuda.

You live there troutstreamnm??? Way cool!! I do apprieciate the offers from you and 392!! That's one of the things that makes this board GREAT!!!!  :2thumbs: :2thumbs: Belive me , the guy I'm talking to isn't giving away anything either. But when you live in the rust belt, well you get my drift I'm sure.  :grinyes:

Let me know if you need a visual check.  I'm always up to check out Mopar Muscle  :2thumbs:  Pictures never tell the true story unless you are paying real attention.  About 8 years ago I fell for a 68 Charger R/T.  The guy must have send me thirty pics, all taken to make the car look good.  I flew out to Dallas to check it out and it was a basket case and not an original R/T!  Wasted a hole day and several hundred bucks....but I learned a lesson.

Troutstreamnm, I didn't know you lived there! I get up there occasionally, have a buddy that lived in Rio Rancho but he retired from the P.D. there and is up in Santa Fe now working Governor security. Next time I go up to see him I'll have to give you a holler and see if we can get together for coffee or a beer!

You could be right on that being a yellow Challenger.  Guess it's a Cuda sandwich because that's a 72-74 Cuda between the two Challengers then.  That's a meal I'd like to have!  :roflsmiley:  Cryin shame to see so much classic metal going to waste.  Not to mention the Chevelles, Mustangs, Cougars and other cars in that lot.

The high desert is not a bad place to store cars but it does rain there alot during the monsoon season.  The low desert (Tucson/Phoenix area) is the hot setup.  Months on end with no rain at all. Perfect floors, roofs trunks ect.

Our climate is exactly the same, maybe 5 degrees less in the summer is all. It is amazing the condition of metal on most cars in this area. If you are lucky enough to find a garaged car then it is pretty much like stepping back in time. The paint is not oxidized and the interior is not toast. BTW, I can spell Albuquerque too
