Manual Steering Adjustment

Is it possible to tighten up a manual steering box.  Mine has a bit to much play in it for my likeing.

Yes undo the locknut & trurn the center screw in , it usually is a staandard but could be allen  , make Sure the wheels are centered when doing this so you do not go too far , Make sure you can turn the wheels Before driving it

It's probably just that the manual boxes have 5 1/4 turns Lock 2 Lock.  Quite a change from jumping out of any modern car where it's 3 turns and usually less with a rack and pinion. Add a little slop in all the bushings and it can feel real vague trying to guide it down the road, like an old PU truck.  :lol:
