71 Challenger front bumper with slots
« on: May 05, 2013 - 10:34:28 PM »
My 71 challenger has a SPD of 520 and I have a slotted front bumper a solid rear bumper.
I have no idea what the jack is out of that I have. There are no date codes stamped on the frame and the hook only has an "A" and a Pentastar stamped on it.
Which leads me to believe the jack was replaced at some point.

That being said...
I've read that in 71 the factory bumpers went from w/o slots to slots. My car is built towards the tail end of production so I could have slots...
Is there an approximate time frame when this occurred? (Anyone with a survivor or known history to help establish timeline?)
Are there examples of original cars with mixed and matched slotted front and solid rear bumpers?

I belive that June 71 was the crossover to slotted bumpers on the challenger.
