    What is an Original Window Sticker Worth ?

    I need your guys opinion:
    What is the value or what is it worth of having the original window sticker compared to a copy of the original window sticker on an all matching 1970 Challenger ?

    Why would a copy of the original exist and not the original...lol.   :clueless:  I'm not sure honestly, to the original car it would definately contribute to the value, as would the broadcast sheet...etc.

    The previous owner gave me a copy of the original window sticker and promised in writing that he has the the "original", which I tend to believe him.
    However, after a few months of waiting and numerous phone calls he says he must have miss placed it and can not find the original, but that he is sure that some day he will find the sticker and mail it...... well not what I want to hear.
    All numbers match, have fender Tag, decoding etc. Did not found the build sheet yet, found a build sheet in the seat cover from an other car .....
    He seems to be honest, but I really do not know the guy.
    This is the situation of where my question originated from and the reason I would like to get a realistic value on an original window sticker.

    I don't think it would add that much value, its rare you see a car sold with the window sticker, I'd say a copy of it would be just as valuable when going to resell it.  Unless someone suspects a fraud fender tag was made from it, but if its the original fender tag, vin tag and numbers match the cowl and rad support, I wouldnt' say it is a huge issue.    :2thumbs:  If he comes up with it down the road, it just adds to the documentation of the car.

    I am not an expert on car memorbilia, but I would think the sticker by itself would not be worth much. Mabe $20-$25 bucks. It's worth a whole lot more with the car as an entire package. To make an example, I owned an antique shop for many years. A Lionel train locomotive with all the paperwork in the original box would be worth at least TWICE as much as an identical train locomotive without the box and paperwork. The paperwork alone would be worth something, but pennies on the dollar as compared to toy that went with it. The paperwork with the item adds value to the item. The paperwork alone adds value to nothing and is only valuable as a historical/collectable paper item. Hope this helps!!

    Window stickers have been reproduced for about 30 years now as well. Before you spend any money on an "original" have someone that knows what to look for on the fakes look it over for you.

    If you can scan your copy & email  me I can check it out for you if you like?

    If you can send a scan of the broadcast sheet you found for the other car that would be great too. I can check my files & see if I know who owns the matching car.
