Hemi cooling question
« on: October 15, 2008 - 07:11:14 PM »
A friend of mine sent me this email and I didn't know, so I thought I would see if anyone here knows.

I came across an adapter for reversing the coolant flow on a big block Chrysler (uses an electric water pump) which lead to more questions.

On the World Products Hemi block pictures, the iron block shows one hole on each end of the water pump.  On their aluminum block, there are two holes on each end.

Are the two for improved flow????

So back to the original question, does reverse coolant flow help on the hemis?

My Hemi is set up to reverse cool.  One of the hottest arears in the engine is near/around the exhaust valves.  By running the coolant through the heads first, it keeps that area cooler.  It it mandatory?  I don't think so.  I have run them both ways and really could tell no difference.....     :bigshades:
