Hi. I picked up a pair of exhaust manifolds # 2863553 and 2863549 , The fellow said these are Hipo manifolds, is there a difference between these and others Thanks

Yeah those are the 68-70 hi po manifolds and are the most sought after 340 manifolds produced.

I guess i lucked out then . Got these for 300.00 pr cdn.in excellent shape. But what is the Hipo, I,m Assuming High PerformaceThanks

Yep high performance. What is the exchange rate from canadian to US? I think those manifolds here in the States go between 300 and 600  (US) depending on condition and you can buy reproductions for 650.

I guess it would be around 350.00us, I think i got a fair deal being they,ve been blasted and cleaned up, and they are orginal. Thanks

The only real difference they found in dyno tests between them and the common log manifolds on a 360 is about 5hp at certain rpm's. They do look cool though.
