Buying a engine bay wiring kit.
« on: October 19, 2008 - 10:41:51 PM »
I am just going to break down and buy a engine wiring kit. I am dealing with the wiring that is 1. original stuff, 2. for a big block and I put a small block in (difference?), and 3. It sat outside for alon time (15 years) without a hood.

What is the best kit, where to buy, and does it come with a starter solenoid/ starter relay?

Thanks, I emailed him.  Does anyone know if the engine wiring is included in the big expensive wiring kit?

Not sure which kit you are asking about , but generally no the engine harness is separate , the difference between big block & small block is minor , the length of the coil & dist wires is shorter on the small block as both are on the rear of the engine , what you do need tp know is if you have electronic ignition & the car was not originally equipped with it you can get a harness to accomadate it

What is your ultimate goal...origiality?...Your likely to have issues with the dash harness as well especially at the firewall bulkhead connector.  If originality is not an issue you may be way ahead to get a complete aftermarket kit.
