I still have a repo hood that I bought around 1984. It came from a company called Fiberglass Trends and was poorly made. The bottom structure was bonded on in various points with gaps all around. The scoop looked like somebody sat on it with tha gap very small between the opening and the hood surface.   I had to refiberglass everything to repair it including cutting off the scoop then putting it back on.

Have your friend see if he can put fingers underneath the front scoop.

Thanks all, Loco I have spoken to your mate and I might still buy his hood although I really only wanted a scoop.
Hey Hemi I have dropped you a PM with my phone number, very keen to talk about fabricating a scoop, thanks.
C/PeteI think the cost of shipping might be prohibitive re your hood (are you in the U.S?)
Cheers
Mike

I dont remember where but I have seen T/A scoops in metal. To me thats the best of both worlds, you have the cool scoop but can put it on a flat hood and its all metal.

I remeber seeing them in metal as well.  I think they ran about $600 just for the scoop.

Yikes that would be nutty to pay that much. I had it in my mind it was more like 200 bucks. Heck, you are a good ways to getting a whole T/A hood for 600 dollars.

The seller was Harms and the supplier was Playback for the metal scoops.
I have talked with Mike, and i can make the scoop in metal for him if he decides to go that way with a steel hood :2thumbs:
