They did make the dash gauges retro like the Mustang, where the new Challenger isn't that way. I won't bash the car, but that bidding is getting crazy.   :eek7:   :eek2:

It's still only a Camaro...::) (and we all know the old saying that every redneck plus his cousin own one)  It just doesn't do it for me in any way...The Challenger was an iconic car that died too early into its production, so it's awesome to see a new one revitalized again.  Unfortunately, Chrysler really didn't get the retrospective points when they chose to re-establish the Challenger's nameplate after the Charger "flop" one year before Ford decided they would do it correctly and came out with the '05 retro-'Stang.  The Camaro, as history repeats itself, decided they may as well come in third again with their concept of the 2010 Camaro (and it shows as they clearly aren't the "quickest" company). :misbehaving:

Disclaimer: These statements are all based on how Chrysler technically developed the first pony car (distant from the E-body platform, but still a pony car in primitive form) when they introduced the '64 Barracuda to their lineup. :2thumbs:

True. At least they have upheld the tradition of being uglier with every passing generation, like the Corvette.  :2thumbs:

I just read today the G-8 is on the chopping block along with the Solstice. Pontiac and Buick will probably cease to exsist in a few years.
GM can cover things with Chevy and Cadillac and save a bunch of $$$.
The only Pontiac dealer we had around here closed up 6 months ago.

Yeah, I read that Buick is almost a certainty, and Pontiac would be next.  How did the Big 3 get so screwed up that they are in their current position?  Is it poor quality, poor workmanship, the UAW?  It seems so screwey that the foreign manufacturers can make it work and prosper, even on our shores, but we can't.

Good point about Chevy being third as retros go. Chrysler came out with the minivan and GM didn't tackle the market until many years later. They dropped the camaro/firebird in 2002 only to have the resto mustang re-emerge in 05 with huge success. Chrysler came out with the viper and kicked corvettes a$$, the prowler came out and the PT cruiser was huge in the first two years. Then Gm decides to copy with HHR and SSR-too little too late. The number one automaker should be leading and not following. Chrysler has had many new models out over the years. THe Charger filled the I want muscle but have 2 kids market and the CHallenger-well-it again has come out as gas prices soar and the economy plummets....history never repeats. As to Pontiac and Buick, well only old people drive a buick and pontiac has had nothing of value in years, in fact the solstice is nice but too small for me to fit in and the rest is crap.  :horse:

You know, looking at the side view of the Charmaro, it looks a lot like the current charger, except minus one door.  But, after all these years of car production, almost everything looks like something else.

distressing sign of the times when our domestic auto makers are killing off brands while the foreign competition is adding brands. I for one think it looks pretty cool. The camaro should have never been axed anyway, at least it hung on in actual v-8 form while the mustang went through its second childhood as a pinto in the 70's.
