try lengthening the rod some more to push the pedal back further
 if it still slips under power something else is wrong

It sounds like you need to re-adjust the clutch to get it pass center, but I would first make sure you have the correct fork & adjuster rod in there...
I adjust my clutch just so the bearing is barely off the fingers on the plate (maybe .010's)and I check it with the engine running (just don't stick your hands in there).

also make sure the bushings inside the Z bar are in good condition , if the Z bar is loose you will have problems as well

Dear sleepy,
If you are slippjng in a higher gear, with a new clutch, your clutch is probably partialy engaged, check your linkage. 1/4" play with clutch released at clutch fork is a general rule. But Chryco will know the correct clearance, more than me.

bushings are new. i will try adjusting this weekend
