I just got the rear plate put back on my 8 1/4'' Rear End. It took me a few days to get the right gasket. My manual says it takes 4.4 pints of oil. When I emptied it, I got a little over a quart out. When I filled it a few minutes ago, it only took a little over a quart, so that seems right ( I think??).
I'm going to go for a little drive and check the level again, will some of that oil move toward the axles and change the level leaving room for more oil?
