dumb question but...
« on: November 07, 2008 - 10:48:20 AM »
Did anyone drive a 383 BB with a 727 with 1800 brake stall converter? Dont as why I have such a bizarre setup  :screwy:
I think my 383 is running good but the car performance is dissapointing, I guess it is due to that converter. It is good for MPG though - almost always below 2500 rpm but killed any fun  :eek7:
So have you ever meet a car like that?

It sounds like you might have a stock setup. If you are looking for performance, you would need a bigger cam and some taller rear gears to go with a higher stall torque converter.

Yup,that a stock stall. You could go with a TCI Breakaway converter.

But service manual says 383-4 ina R/T should have 2350-2650 brake stall not 1800. I have 3.23 rear end.
I plan to put a 2800-3000 stall converter.
