Dipstick help!!
« on: November 07, 2008 - 01:15:50 PM »
Almost done with the challenger. Only one thing is holding me up, a friggin trany dipstick.  some a hole decided to trow my old one away  :pullinghair:  I was wondering if you guys knew where would be the best place to look for one. Iv looked at the aftermarket options and they are too expencive for me to try and buy. Since im soo broke from rebuilding just about everything  maby someone here has one they could sell me real cheap.  :feedback: :worshippy

Junkyard. Just look underneath and make sure which trans it is..... Almost garaunteed to find one. If you got a 727, check out some 80's Dodge Trucks.

Plus, its fun to walk around in the junkyard.

Im at a transmission shop. We have nothing here dipstick wize. We have enough junk here to build a ton of tranys. But no dipsticks for my 727.  If I found a truck in the junkyard with the 727, wont the dipstick be differant?  I havnt been to a junkyard in awhile, may be my last option.

Only thing different is the oil pan...... engine wise.... I would think the dipstick is the same. My Trans came out of an '83 Dodge........

Oh and by the way,if you just need a stick and not the tube, all the sticks are the same (truck,904,727 etc.)
