« on: July 02, 2013 - 08:23:15 AM »
Hello,

I have a 1974 challenger and have a passenger door glass from a 70 or 71, but wasn't sure if it is compadible with the 72-74 hardware and mechanism.

Just make sure it is not from a convertible. they are NOT compatible with a hard top!

The key things that you need to know about side glass:

1.  'Cuda hardtop door glass and Challenger hardtop door glass is the same overall shape

2.  'Cuda quarter windows are different than Challenger quarter windows (Challengers have a gentle curve on the rear edge, 'Cudas have an angle)

3.  Convertible door and quarter glass is different than hardtop, but is the same for both 'Cudas and Challengers.

4.  '70-1 E-bodies had door glass with 11 holes in it, '72-4 has only 9.  Whether this was to provide extra access for the PW option which also disappeared after '71, is not known.  One can certainly use the 11 hole glass in later doors - not sure about the other way around.
