Installing Wheel moulding trim on 73 cuda
« on: May 01, 2004 - 04:17:01 PM »
 >:(Having a problem ...have new repro wheel opening trim..all drilled and the front holes are right on for location BUT  form where it kicks in below the body line is not severe enough to conform  to the lower area of the fender. Can you just bend the aluminum to fit? will it kink?  , do you cut a v in it or  do you section it an get it welded?....then again how good does this fit or how good was it from the factory.  My  back wheel has the same condition.......any  help  .....thx.........

It's tough to give advice without seeing how bad it looks. I put a set of repro's on my Challenger and had a little trouble too. Not all the holes lined up, and I believe in some areas, it stuck out too far. My problems were just a matter of enlargening some holes. Yes, you can bend these easy enough, but it you are off by alot, it might not look so good. Wish I could be of more help.
