F60-15 Polyglas Tires

Would they give a noticeably harsher ride than radials? I'm just wrestling with the idea of getting a set for my R/T SE's first tires. I think they would look cool :cooldancing: but i'd rather not rattle my molars just to look cool. My 440-4 auto car has factory torque boxes to which i've added frame connectors; a polyurethane suspension kit is on the way. I've a feeling that I should stick with modern rubber but possibly someone has repro polyglas tires and can give a firsthand account of how they ride on the open road. All feedback appreciated :)

This is the sort of thing that happens when it takes the better part of three years to finish a project :bricks1: :faint:

as far as I am concerned the Polyglass belted tires are great for trailer queens & nothing else , in 70 they were one of the best tires available but Radils were not used at that point , the ride will be terrible & the tires will grab ruts in the road & drag the car around , get some radials instead you will be far happier & if you really want to be different don`t buy BFG junk either

I'm a long way away from driving my car but I'm going to put the Polyglas E60-15's back on.  As long as they aren't prone to blow-out I figure I'm going for the full 1971 experience - rattling molars and all!   :thumbsup:   :cooldancing:

Well this is the problem , BFG has become like Comp cams & is taking over the market but I have seen them with 1/4 " steps in the tread brand new , not even close to round  Dunlop used to be good but they killed the qulifier as no one was buying them , Cooper & Hankook still make them in Muscle car ssizes , there are better speed rated tires available as well too. Nitto makes a great drag radial with direction tread for street use

  I'd stay away from polyglass, they were terrible in "the day" especially first thing in the morning, thump thump thump until they warmed up and went round, didn't handle all that well compared with a radial. We here in Australia dumped them fairly quickly because of the above problems.   :stomp:

  Hey if you are happy with the polyglas stick with them, the squarer tread/profile does look better.   :bigsmile:

What about Goodyear Eagle GT II? I haven't used them before but seem like a good choice.  :dunno:
