1970 CUDA DOME LIGHT AND TWO TERMINAL SWITCHES

I can install the light assembly and connect the wiring.
Need help with the left and right door two terminal switches that activate the dome light
when either door is open.
The following are the color codes for the wires located at both doors"
 Y and Y*
1ST is that correct and if so how do they get connected to both binding posts  at both switches (if it matters)?
I believe that when the door is open it supposed to go to ground.
Are the switches themselves acting as grounds or do they have to be grounded another way.

you will have yellow & yellow with a black trace for wires , the switch acts as a ground I believe so why 2 wires , & why are my diagrams 5000 miles away

This is the way they did things back then. The switched side was on the ground, and not the power side. Is it possible your car is repainted and the switch isn't making contact to ground. The switches also go bad, so that is another possibility.

actually most new car switch ground as there is lighter current , but with the dome light it is far easier to ground multiple points .

 It's been a while but on my 70 the driverside switch has 2 wires and the passenger just one. I think the feed loops through the driver switch.

If I remember correctly, my 70 has 3 pins for the driver's switch and 2 pins for the passenger door switch. If you don't have the right switch, you can always run a regular single switch and use diodes to each yellow wire after the grounding pin.
