471 smallblock stroker

i was surfing the web and came across speedomotive's webpage claiming to have a 471 smallblock, am i seeing things or does this beast actually exist?

Indy are advertising a 472 small block stroker that is over 600 HP and $15,000 +

i talked to them today and they said that they do some modifying to a 360 block, the guy started explaining it to me but it was way over my head. any way $5000 for a shortblock but i don't know if this is strictly for 1/4 mile or what.

Don't think I'd build a SB that size or invest that much $$$ in a motor without using a race block.

They do it by sleeving a stock block.

I am not an expert but.. I could not see this engine lasting as long as its equivalent cubic inch sized B or RB cousin. For most of us with shallow pockets, the big block would be the way to go.

There is a guy in town with a small block in that cube range.  He used an R3 block, custom crank and pistons.  IIRC the stroke was 4 5/16".  He run's very low 10's and drives it on the street.  I think he spent $20k+ on it.  I like it because it's different.
