Got a good firsthand look at a 71 'Cuda repop fender
« on: December 10, 2008 - 11:53:35 PM »
It looks pretty good but it is not installed yet. My brother in law bought it a while back. The one thing that I did notice though is the difference in the gill opening stamping. On the original you can tell it is a very sharp, crisp stamping that goes down at a 90 degree angle. The repop is not nearly as sharp and is not even close to a 90 degree. I am sure you would not be able to tell very easily with the gills installed but forever I will be able to walk up to a car and tell if the louvered fenders are original or not. Anyone else have any experience with the new repop fenders?

Yes I bought a set from Mopar Dave's dealership.
They fit realy well, but this is the first set of gilled fenders I have had so I can't comment on how the gills match up to originals.

Anyone can compare the stamping that J&J does on existing OEM fenders?
