Heater Box

I am in the middle of restoring my 71 challenger and I have a question. Should I restore the heater box as well??
This is the kit I am planning to purchase..

If you do decide to; there are a few things you might want to get as well.

Rust Away or Evapo Rust.   
Use this to get the parts de rusted. These are any of the metal parts.
Or you can take the metal parts off and get them sand blasted. But then you will need to rivet them back on after.

POR Metal Mask or cast iron spray can aerosol paint.
Use to paint the metal parts or get them re plated if you want to go that much effort.

Clear coat aerosol can
Use this to get a light shine on areas that look worn.
Do a test area so you can see what the results will be like before you do main visible area.

thanks for the info guys i was planning on doing mine this winter and thats just what i was looking for. 35.00 for non ac isnt to bad considering how long it would take me to make the gaskets. kmyles if your trap doors look like mine definitly try to restore it

I also found out that most non A/C heater motors were black but some are the silver zinc look also. So either way is right.
I don't know if this was a year thing or a supplier issue.

Thanks for the responses guys. I think that I may as well go ahead and restore the heaterbox since I did everything else. That was I not kicking myself in the behind later!!
