Christmas Present
« on: December 25, 2008 - 10:32:39 AM »
After waiting and researching I finally pulled the trigger on a new digital camera. I bought a Nikon D90. My wife kicked in and made it happen. After shooting film for 30 years I guess it was time to make the switch. I have alot to learn.
Anyway here is the very first picture I took right out of the box. I hope it is sized right. Now I need to get the cars out and take some good shots of them !!

I will as son as I get around to trying it out. Still just working on what all the buttons do and learning Nikon Capture II for editing.

I used a Minolta 35mm film camera for years, and bought a Nikon D50 a little over a year ago. What a difference, no more canisters of film lying around to be developed and wondering what is on each roll. You can just print the good shots and delete the bad ones, and you get to see the shot right after you take it. You will love that camera, it's so much more fun to use than a film camera and you can do a lot more with it than than you can with the little point and shoot digitals.

I just bought my daughter a Nikon D40 for Christmas. I cringe seeing her fling the thing around like a cheap point and shoot disposable. I've have tried to instill in her the importance of diligent care. She was taking family pics about an hour after she got it and the dog licked the lense. She started to clean it with her shirt tail! Whoa there cowboy!! I ran out today and got a UV filter to protect the lense. I know she loves it, but I hope she will take care of it!! :22yikes:
