I'm going out on a limb here...  

It seems the small block cars could get away nicely with 1" over stock height. I had to go 2" over for my 440. The pic ChallengerHK posted looks awesome.   :2thumbs:

See, I think the fuzzy memory of years past has led many of us to forget that back when an F70x14 was a cool tire, even those got booted for an L60x15, which significantly changes the rake of the vehicle, which has led many of us to believe that our cars sat better originally than they really ever did. Lets not forget that mother mopar NEVER speced a ride height for the rear of their cars, but did so explicitly for the front. This set up was also typically much taller in the nose than most modern enthusiast would find acceptable. I can post the factory reference if anyone cares to see, then challenge anyone to go verify their car against to see if they truly are set to a stock ride height, regardless of wheels/tires they use.  :clueless:

Personally, I've never had any trouble out of a set of MP XHD leaf springs. I've installed three sets in my personal cars, two in my brother's cars, and sold a dozen sets to customers who have had no complaints. Then again, I've done so knowing that they are not designed to lift the rear so much as control the axle. I also typically lower my cars even further to reduce the overall height as much as possible.  :stirpot:

I also do not care for Espo springs, but I expect different attributes from my springs than most, so I realize that for the vast majority of car owners, Espo springs will easily and economically fit the bill for what they want to achieve, which is a raised ride height and a nice rake. Since this can be achieved in a variety of ways, then if it works for you, makes your car feel/look/ride better, than I'd say you made a good choice.   :thumbsup:

Standard ESPO springs with 1" lowering blocks...the look going the other direction I guess. 235 & 255/50-17's


1974 Challenger Rallye - 440+.040, 0 decked, 10.5:1, Ross Pistons, Hughes 3844 cam (238/244, .536/.540), Eddy RPM manifold, Eddy aluminum heads, Holley 750, TTI headers, .96" T-bars, IAS shocks, 1 1/8" front sway bar, 3/4" rear sway bar, XHD 6 leaf springs, Firm Feel stage 2 steering box.

I totaly prefer the mopar look to that snot rod, cat in heat look of the Espos.
Chrysler designed there springs to be as flat as possible for better handling.
Read about it in Mopar suspension book.
But I am not into Drag racing either.

I like the espos myself, I will probably add a leaf as I already bought Mopar springs and surprise the height didnt change  :eek4:

Wow, I too had forgotten just how low the ride height was when the cars were new.  I perfer a higher ride stance and I'm going to approach a spring shop with the idea of rearching and/or adding a 5th leaf in order to get the 1" of lift I am looking for.
