Run the tank down to <1/2 way and jack the car up on the drivers side.  Should be good to go.

Slight problem with that Tom............my cuda has an exhaust silencer box each side of the gas tank.   :faint:

I have always been able to get the sending unit out without dropping the tank , you may have to pull the heat sheild out to get to it

Looks like my car has a non standard exhaust, it has straight through pipes with a box at the end and the tips welded to each box !

thats why there is no room alongside the tank.

Will have to drop the exhaust on the drivers side to get the sending unit out in that case.  Easier than dropping the tank though !!!

Thanks for letting me know that the sending unit will come out anyway.               Neil.

I had the stock silencers back near mine and was able to get it out, I just jacked the car up on that side and fiddled with it for a bit. Took a few tries to figure out how to maneuver it, but it wasn't that bad. I didn't drop the tank or the exhaust.

Ok,  Thanks for that.  im going to have a go at it and see what happens.    There is only a 1" gap alongside the silencer where you can see the sending unit,so i

think the exhaust will have to be removed to actually get the sending unit out.    :banghead:

Looks like mine would to with heat shield and muffler right there. But try undoing the tip bracket hanger, resonator bracket and just unscrew the muffler shield and it may come out. also let the springs n tires hang a bit for more room. The tip bracket has to be undone to take the muffler shield off all the way
