Picture of vacuum line and hose layout for 70 Cuda BB
« on: January 03, 2009 - 10:19:55 AM »
I am finishing off the engine and could use a picture/schematic of the vacuum and hose layout for a 70 Cuda BB, preferably without the air cleaner in place.  Most are obvious, but I seem to have some extra vacuum fittings.

Appreciate it.

I dont have one, but is yours cas or non cali emissions?  4bbl or 6pk?  Holley or carter?  With or without elctric retard solonoide?  I think there were differnt types if I'm not mistaken.  Just tryin to help you out :2thumbs:

Bit of a newbie when it comes to hoses.  I am attempting to buy all of the necessary hoses before I send it in for its first tune-up.

It is a 440 with a holley 750 DP.  I have attached a picture.

My assumptions are as follows:

Right rear valve cover vent goes into rear of air cleaner.
Left rear valve cover PCV vent goes into vacuum port on rear right side of intake manifold (tape covering it).
Brake booster goes into goes into base of rear of carb.
Distributor vacuum line goes into lower front side of carb.
There is an extra unknown vacuum port on the right front side of the carb (tape covering it).

I think that is all there is.

PCV goes from the valve cover to the base of the carb
brake booster goes to the manifold on the #8 runner
dist goes to the upper port on the side of the carb Not the base
cap the lower port on the base of the carb

You are welcome , just so you know you never run the pcv to the manifold , it will only suck the engine waste into the one cylinder & can foul the # 8 plug , running it into the base of the carb it is distributed equally to all cylinders , the brake booster just needs vacuum source so it can run off the single runner
