Neutral safety switch question
« on: January 01, 2009 - 07:14:13 PM »
I have a leaky neutral safety switch (70 Chally 383 4-speed). Are the switches the same as used on the automatics? Anyone know where I can get a new one offhand?

Mine leaked there also.

You can go to Rock Auto and search both auto and manual to see if they are the same.  I'm guessing they are.  I bought mine local, only $8 I think.

Four speeds don't have a neutral safety switch, they have a reverse lights switch.   They can be had at the local parts store ~$10.  They are different the the automatics.
Those things always leak!!!

Also, on a car without back-up lights, you can leave it off and fill the hole with the bolt from the end of a reverse detent spring retainer.  That never leaks.
